Hey, Mr. Blog~

I've been a busy mofo! But my good friend Kat is going to keep me on the blogging ball and give me a challenge each Friday to fulfill so that I'm no longer neglecting you. (Joke's on her, It's technically Sunday so I'm already late the first week!)

My challenge this week was to dress up in the new dress I made and show off my crafty prowess. But I didn't have time for that, Mr. Blog! So here is a nice snap shot of the new addition to my gaudy and so bright closet.

Impressed? I am as well! This is probably the best thing I have ever sewn in my entire life. The amount of detail and effort I put into it was almost migraine inducing. But it was so worth it, I love this dress~ Now to actually make it into a workable outfit.

I have a small confession, Mr. Blog. I don't think the full on commitment to Lolita fashion is going to happen in my life. I like too many gaudy and ugly articles of clothing that most in the community find "ita". I just cannot help it. I'm not talking about cat ears and lace monsters. I mean hot pink leopard print and fake leather brand dresses. I'm probably hopeless, but I'll have fun trying things. Hueh hueh hueh.

So what has been eating up all my time recently, you ask? PREPARING FOR NEBRASKON 2014!!! I have three costumes, four if I have time and feel frisky, to complete in the time span of a month. Both of the little ones want to cosplay My Little Pony characters. Lu demands to be Fluffle Puff, technically a fan created pony that has become popular on YouTube, and Ray wants to be Twilight Sparkle. Actually, my two sons wanting to be girl ponies had brought up quite a bit of controversy in my life this post month! But I'm saving that for another "Friday" so I may rant about that in depth.

Behold, below is my progress on Fluffle Puff! You have no idea how many times I've been stabbed with the felting needles already. Grr.

 

For myself I have decided to finally go for the gusto and cosplay Onion Knight from Final Fantasy Tactics. I've wanted to do this forever but could never work up the guts to dive into it. Wish me luck! And if I have time left, (who am I kidding, we know that's not going to happen), I'll be making a gijinka cosplay of the Pokemon Banette, one of my favourites.

It's All Good

Hello hello, Mr. Blog~

I've been receiving many messages for a while now about something I feel a tad conflicted about. I was posted to an ita thread a while back and many people who care for me have stirred up a budding nest of anger about it all. While I have had mixed emotions about the whole spiel I have pretty much told them all to just live and let live.

Personally, I was sad and had that knee jerk reaction that I'm sure many people have when they see pictures making fun of them online. It lasted a good five minutes accompanied by teary eyes and all. But it's okay, really. These things happen. The internet is not a place of rainbows and sunshine and I know this. Everyone has their opinions on others and what people say won't bring me any harm. I love everyone out there that was up in arms but in reality I'm alright with being posted there.

I'm new to all of this. Not so much following Lolita fashion, but participating. And I'm unsure if it is how everyone experienced it but wearing and staring at photos is entirely two different things, in my opinion. I'm going to make mistakes. Couple looking like a hot mess with me being fat and I'm sure there will be many laughs had by all. But I'm working hard at improving and I am taking everything said into consideration. If someone cannot take criticism then how will they get better?

And I have been working hard on the fat part as well. I know I'm so wishy washy with weight loss on here but I've actually lost more that forty pounds since January and I am so happy with myself. I cried when my friend Kat let me try on some clothes and they fit. I was so very happy since I cannot seem to see the change in myself. I always look fat, so that's all I see. And I'm still fat, unfortunately, but I'm working very hard on it. I'm not a Lolita yet, Mr. Blog. 

But someday I would like to be~ <3

So I hope my friends can not be so upset when they see me being made fun of online. I truly don't mind. Harsh criticism is how I'll get better. And I want to very much so! The things take time I suppose. I don't even care if I become a well known Lolita. I'm good with just blending in with the sea of frills.

And my ita-y self in all its glory. Wish me luck with the next try.

Becuase I got to see the new X-Men movie tonight, I can now die saying I got to see that glorious bum in 3D. Which will probably be as close as I will ever get. Hur hur hur. I never remember to take cute photos of my outfits, I am trying to do better with this.

Floral Outfit for Mother's Day

Since it was Mother's Day yesterday there was festivities around my parts. And what says "motherly" more than some sort of huge floral print? Anymore motherly and we would need to bust out those foam hair curlers you have to sleep in. And no, we are not busting those awful things out. Ever. So on to the pictures!

Someone asked me to put where I bought these items whenever I do an "Outfit Post". I think they are going to be disappointed, Mr. Blog, as I don't really shop at any special places and I thrift very often. But I'll do my very best.

As you can see I don't have a very interesting list. I buy cheap alot so I can get those really nice items I want on occasion that my dear Captain freaks out over spending what he calls a "crazy amount of money" on. Like the ever so beautiful Paraiso du un Unicorn 柄 ジャンパースカート2~ Or these. Or these. Yeah, I will hush now.

A positive note for the past month? I was one of the random winners chosen from the Pinky Paradise photo contest. Yay~ So I we eligible to choose a free pair of contacts and I get some other neato prizes as well! No talent or effort was really required to be entered to win, but ain't you proud of me anyways, Mr. Blog??? Thought so.

A not so positive note for this month? Captain ordered me a birthday present about six months ago and I don't think I am going to get it. There was a mix up and I don't think I want the replacement item offered. I really do not like being a difficult customer and very rarely wish to rock the boat about things. In fact, Mr. Blog, Captain is usually the one that explodes over situations and demands refunds. I am that quiet person that will most likely still pay for my meal without one peep of a complaint even if they forgot a few things here and there. Captain will get our meal for free and still be angry afterwards! He is not mean, just believes that customer services should hold a high standard.

Captain is pretty upset about the entire situation and has all but called up PayPal to file a complaint. (Although I do not think you can after so long now...) I assured him that the people are good and have a standard to hold their reputation upon. Though she has taken forever to even message me back and forth, the communication is there. Alas, that still does not mean the suggested replacement is sufficient since it is the one colourway out of three I could just not tolerate.Hopefully I can get it in PINK! Pink makes everything better. 

No pouting though! I cannot! Today was too lovely a day for such things. My Captain and my two sons took me out to eat at a place called Genji's. It was one of those hibachi grills that cook in front of you. The littlest one was pretty terrified of the flames when they did that volcano trick. It was too cute. Captain downed an entire liter of saki. What a lush, Mr. Blog! And we also went to JoAnn Fabrics for some notions to match the AMAZING FABRIC I ORDERED ONLINE. THIS ONE!!!

While I the craft store I ran into my good friend Kat and her mom. I was super happy to see her and she was as impressed with my fabric as I was. She is my only Lolita friend IRL and she is fabulous.

Just wanted to tell you about my dual love affair I am having with Tumblr at the moment. Do not fret though, you are still my Bottom Bitch. <3 I mostly use the site to hoard images, which saves alot of space on my poor Kindle/laptop/desktop. My main accounts are really nothing to toot my horn over, but I figured I would share a secondary one that is mostly fashion and accessories or items I would like to craft some day.

Miss me? I dressed in some Lolita clothing today. Check out my endeavors! Captain bought me the ADORABLE sweater yesterday. It is woven out of magic and fabulousness.

Ignore my fat rolls, sorry. Not really, I think i look pretty damn cute despite of the flaws. I have a good reason for being so smug though, Mr. Blog! I have lost 40 lbs this year! Yup, even though I have not been blogging as much as my promise at the beginning of the year I sill have stuck to my lifting routine and eating well. So hopefully I will be down to my goal weight by the end of 2013~
